Community Conversation at Fusion – February 9, 2017
The City of Kenosha Commission on the Arts and their 25-member Kenosha Creative Economy Strategic Plan committee, together with the UW-Madison Bolz Center for Arts Administration students/advisors, are so pleased with the community response of the Community Conversation at Kenosha Fusion. Hosted a slate of generous sponsors, more than 60 community members and leaders participated in the event and contributed their perspectives to refine 8 preliminary strategies that are based on; previous community initiates dating back to 2008, stakeholder interviews and steering committee input collected since September 2016.
Next steps include:
- Hosting a second Community Conversation, this time at the Kenosha Public Library’s Uptown Branch on March 7 from 6:30-8:00. This event will follow the same format as the February event and is open to the public. We especially welcome residents and community members from Kenosha’s Uptown and Lincoln Park neighborhood.
- The Steering Committee will meet April 1 to synthesize all the findings relating to the 8 preliminary strategies and will formulate the essential elements of the strategic plan.
- On April 28 the plan will be unveiled to the public through an informal social hosted by Gateway Technical College at their Horizon Center. Attendees will interact with “champions” of the strategies and be able to express their interest in assisting in implementation.
